My Ugandan adventure is fast approaching; my suitcases are packed and goodbyes have been said. I have a sack full of antimalarials and enough bug spray to repel all the mosquitos in Africa! Most importantly though, I have 47 wonderful books made by St. Mary’s children ready to be delivered and read by the children of Masindi.

These books, including famous tales such as ‘The Hare and the Tortoise’ and ‘The Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing’ have been written in Runyoro (local language) and English, and then beautifully illustrated. The hope is that the Ugandan children will enjoy reading these books and improve their English in doing so. I’m looking forward to seeing our super books put into action.
