We are offering our first 500 supporters a unique gift if you make a donation of £10 or more. Our newly published children’s book “A Very Busy Day” written especially for us by Verna Wilkins is set in rural Uganda and tells the story of two children’s adventure on their first day of the school holidays.
Redearth work in rural Ugandan schools where literacy rates are very low and there is an 80% drop out before the end of Primary school, largely due to their inability to read.
Our beautifully illustrated children’s book “A Very Busy Day” is set in rural Uganda and has been written especially for us by Verna Wilkins. Her books have featured on National Curriculum, BBC children’s television, and been chosen among the Children’s Books of the Year.
The first 500 people to donate £10 or more, will receive a copy of the book as a gift, with a further 2 books given to Ugandan schools. All donations go towards training teachers in the teaching of reading and to encourage children to enjoy reading for pleasure.
This would be a great gift for African children living abroad to have a story from their home continent, as well as schools or parents interested in teaching their children about the beautiful diversity of our world’s cultures.
Donate here and we’ll send you a copy of Verna Wilkins’ beautiful book to say thank you!
