We are so excited to announce that the paintings of 3 children from our schools have been selected to appear in Positive Afritude‘s London exhibition! Their works are currently on display and for sale at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), as part of their Black History Month 2016 celebrations.All profits raised will contribute to Redearth’s projects to improve primary education in rural Uganda.
The three children, Comboni Daniel (16), Taban Yassin (14) and Sijal Moses (15), created these paintings in order to help raise funds for Redearth Education, in order to improve the quality of primary education in their own rural communities. Over 200 paintings created by Ugandan children, as well as local artists, will be on display and for sale at the Colours of Africa 4 exhibition at Notting Hill’s The Tabernacle in December.
Postive Afritude aims to showcase the immense talent in Africa and bring together virtually and in person, artists, students, teachers, galleries, buyers etc. to share knowledge and ideally, facilitate trade in ideas & products. This is a wonderful and exciting opportunity for our three young and budding artists who currently have little access to art materials, resources or educational opportunities to help build upon and strengthen their artistic talents. We hope that their inclusion in the Positive Afritude exhibition will inspire and encourage these children, and provide them with the confidence to continue in their art practice.
